Metabolic Imaging and Liver Metabolism

Section for Metabolic Imaging and Liver Metabolism

The overarching goal of our section is to develop novel state-of-the art NMR and LC/MS/MS methodology to probe liver and muscle metabolism in awake rodent models of metabolic disease and translate these methods to examine normal and abnormal metabolic processes in humans.

We anticipate that this approach will provide new therapeutic targets for the development of novel therapeutics for the treatment and prevention of insulin resistance, NAFLD/NASH and type 2 diabetes in humans.
