Jonas Thue Treebak is awarded the Novo Nordisk Foundation Excellence Project Grant

Four talented researchers working in the Northern Region is awarded this grant each year and with it follows 5 million DKK (1 Million DKK annually in five years) that can finance all part of his research project.

Jonas received the grant for his project 'Role of NAD-salvage systems in mitochondrial function and insulin sensitivity: Implications for Type 2 diabetes'. Basically the project aims at understanding different organisms adaptation to metabolic stress in the form of food intake and physical activities. Potentially, this knowledge may help people suffering from diabetes and insulin resistant.
