Scientific Director Juleen Zierath selected for EMBO membership
European Molecular Biology Organization (EMBO) has just announced Professor Juleen Zierath will be one of the 58 researchers newly elected to its membership. Most of the newly elected scientists reside in 13 different countries in Europe; eight Associate Members were elected from China, Japan, Lithuania, Singapore and the United States.
EMBO stands for excellence in the life sciences and new members are elected annually in recognition of their contributions to scientific excellence. Their selection is a tribute to their research and achievements.
“I am honoured to be amongst the life science researchers elected as a new EMBO member. I have received numerous letters of congratulations from colleagues and friends around the world and it has really been touching to get these warm wishes,” says Professor Juleen Zierath.
The major goals of the organization are to support talented researchers at all stages of their careers, stimulate the exchange of scientific information, and help build a European research environment where scientists can achieve their best work.
