Metabolism Day 2025 - Some numbers and many thank yous
Our annual conference has come a long way since its launch in 2019, growing steadily in popularity and scope.

As interest in the conference has grown across the University, and beyond, we've sold out the impressive Jerne Auditorium for two straight years!

Here are some more key numbers from this year’s Metabolism Day:
🎟️ 510 attendees, of which 85 joined us from abroad.
🧑🔬 69 early career scientists presented posters.
📺 1,368 viewers joined the YouTube livestream – a 34% increase on the year before (you can watch keynotes from previous years on our channel!)
🎓 25% of attendees were colleagues from UCPH, drawn from 14 different departments.
🥼 38% of attendees were external guests, representing 32 academic, research and non-profit organisations and five hospitals.
👔 22% of guests joined us from industry, from 22 businesses and startups in the biomedical sector.
It takes a huge team to pull off a successful conference, who all deserve a huge thank you:
🗣️ The fantastic speakers for taking time out of their busy schedules to share their knowledge with us: Amalia Gastaldelli, Anu Suomalainen Wartiovaara, Eleftheria Zeggini, Gregory Radick, Ingela Lanekoff, James Trevaskis & Jose Florez.
👨🏫 The poster presenters, whose science sparked many exciting conversations.

🤸♀️ The CBMR Administration and Research Support team – the smooth running of the event is a testament to their many years of experience organizing conferences.
👩💼 The Metabolic Research Association of Postdocs and Students (MAPS) for helping to facilitate the Q&A session and serving as ambassadors to the speakers
👩🔧 The facility service team Campus Drift for their AV and technical support
🖼️ Copenhagen Streaming for their professional and reliable AV and live streaming service, Søren Hougesen for the graphic identity and design, and Ricky John Molloy for his incredible photos – some of which you can scroll through below.
Finally, we wish to thank all of you who attended. With an auditorium packed with scientists and innovators from across the regional research ecosystem and beyond, the conference succeeded in bringing together researchers to discuss the latest science in cardiometabolic diseases and energy control. We hope it sparks new interdisciplinary research projects, which may ultimately lead to better treatment, prevention and diagnoses for the millions of people living with cardiometabolic disease around the world.
